SPEAKER

Dr. Cecile Gonzales Dagohoy is a gifted Christian woman whose primary passion is to glorify the Lord her God and to make Him known to others.

She is a graduate of the West Visayas State University, Iloilo City, Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences degree.  She also obtained a Doctorate in Medicine degree from the same institution in 1988.  After passing the medical licensure exam, she completed her residency training in internal medicine and shortly went into private practice until she joined her husband, Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, when he was called to the pastorate of First Philippine Baptist Church in Houston, Texas in 1994.

Serving God formerly at First Philippine Baptist Church and now at Rice Temple Baptist Church has given her many opportunities to exercise her spiritual gifts, particularly in the areas of music, prayer, missions, evangelism, and discipleship.  Aside from her involvement in the church, she is also an active participant in denominational work.  She is the Adult Missions Consultant of the Women’s Missionary Union of Union Baptist Association and has been invited to speak, lead worship and workshops in conferences sponsored by the Women’s Missionary Union as well as the Office of Intercultural Ministries of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

On a professional level, she works as a Gastro Intestinal Oncology Business Systems Analyst at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and has co-authored four publications.

Dr. Dagohoy met her husband in a Philippine Christian singing group called the Bahandi, which means, “treasure.” Together they are blessed with a musically gifted daughter named Faith Alexine, who is a senior Nursing student at Houston Baptist University.
