Members of One Body
/Paul addressing the Corinthians about unity among them and diversity in the body of Christ addresses every believer. Each part of the body is dependent on one another and so no part is independent. Every part is important as one part can affect one another.
What is Paul saying in this passage? Unity! Unity in the body of Christ. We're all members of the same body with many parts and must work together in oneness of purpose. Therefore, there should be no segregation, no division, no favoritism, no manipulation and discrimination in the body of Christ. The body of Christ which is the Church - YOU should be united and not divided. Other parts of the body shouldn't be seen as irrelevant, useless and unproductive because we're working towards the same goal, so why is there division among the body of Christ, when Paul says we "should have equal concern for one another."
Paul said in vs 21 "The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” Human beings are indispensable and we'll always need one another.
Every believer is blessed with a gift, therefore appreciate the gift in one another and use it for the glorification of the name of the Lord alone.
Believers, body of Christ, Church, let us work together in unity of faith and oneness of purpose. God bless you!
