Jesus' Yoke

Matthew 11:29-30

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

What a loving and caring Father we have who has volunteered Himself to carry our heavy loads. What Jesus requires of us is very simple; He has extended a hand of fellowship with us and asked us to yoke to Him. Just come to the yoke carrier whose gospel is about hope, unlike the time of Moses, when it's like oppression with no mercy. The yoke Jesus talks about here is like the wood used to pair animals like donkey or oxen together when to pull a heavy load. So, the allegories Jesus used was to explain His teachings to help us understand how He has offered to do the heavy lifting so that we might be less burdened with problems, fear, anxiety, pain, disaster, etc. All He requested was to come to Him in submission, accept Him, and put our hope in Him. Life is full of issues, fear, and uncertainties, but when we put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, we will surely find rest. I, therefore, implore you to yoke yourself to the Savior, who will make your burden light and easy to bear.
