What Are You Praying For?

The word of God says that we should pray without ceasing. It also says men should always pray. Prayer is our communication to the Heavenly Father. We should never let a day go by without prayer. Most of the time we spend time asking God for things but we should spend more time in prayer for others. If you think about it, Christ traveled the dusty roads of this earth praying for others. In fact, there was only one time as I recall where He prayed for himself, and that was when He asked His Father to let this cup pass from Him. So He has clearly given us the example that praying for others is what we too should do. Also our prayers should be prayers of thanksgiving. We ask God for blessings night and day, but forget to thank Him for answered prayer. There are many scriptures in the Bible about prayer and being thankful, but one that I will end with today is Psalms 100, Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and bless His name, for the Lord is good and His love endures forever to all generations. Let’s remember to always pray and be thankful to our God who is Awesome in all His ways!

Colossians 4:2

“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;”
