Open Communication
/In Luke 18:1, the Lord told His disciples a parable to show them that men should always pray and not give up. If Christ told His disciples to always pray then He is telling us that we too should always pray without ceasing.
Prayer is our communication with the Father. The mothers on our prayer line frequently talk about the power of prayer and how prayer changes things. Yes, prayer does change things because when you pray, you have humbled yourself before God and submitted your will to His Will in your life. When you pray without ceasing, you began to develop that personal relationship with the Father. The Lord our God created us to worship Him. When we worship Him, that is a form of giving Him adoration and praise, which is a form of prayer. We are thanking Him through our worship. Which means we are communicating to Him, and prayer is communication to the Father through Christ Jesus. Prayer is key to change. If you want things to turn around in your life, then you should pray. I find myself talking to the Lord all the time, almost like talking to my mother. I am not bowing my head or on my knees, I just talk to Him no matter where I am. I have found out that through this open dialogue with the Savior, He clearly talks back to me. I know it is His voice in my head because when I listen and obey, things turn out right in my life.
So start today developing an open dialogue with the Father. You don’t need to be formal in your prayer unless you are in a formal situation and have been given the responsibility to do a corporate prayer. But if it is just you and the Lord, you can drop the formality and just talk to Him. Open your heart, mind and ears to hear Him when He talks back to you. When you start praying, don’t stop, just keep going, keep that open line of communication and you will see things turn around for your good.
