Resist the Devil

We talk about how satan is on our trail, and yes that might be so but the scripture today says you must resist satan. Do you know what resist means? Resist means fight against, refuse to accept, oppose. So if we are going to fight, refuse, and oppose him, we must stop giving him the ammunition that can take us out. When the Lord says submit, He is saying you must give up your will and accept His Will. Submission means to humble yourself, to yield to someone else’s authority over you. So the Word today says you must take action in order for satan to get off your trail. You must stop opening the door and giving him space to mess your life up. Let me give you an example, I know a girl friend who was having issues on the job. I would talk to her from time to time and noticed how her whole attitude was changing. She started developing negative thoughts and dreading going to work. She would tell me of the different things she would do at work that were inappropriate, like coming to work late every day. Taking off almost once a week. She would miss deadlines of turning reports in. This is an example of giving satan ammunition . My friend was opening a door that satan could have used to cause her to loose her job. I told her that God is the one who opened this door for you and she needed to relax and pray over the situation and it will be fine. My friend came back a month ago and said that she praise God that He knows how to step in and turn things around. I praised God along with her because she humbled herself to the Holy Spirit and listened to what He was telling her to do. When you humble yourself and praise God instead of complaining, you loose the ammunition satan has to kill you. You close the door of negativity. Now there are many ways we give satan ammunition to take us out and I’m telling you today to submit yourself to the Father, resist everything satan is trying to bring your way and he will flee from you. Now do know he is coming back, but he won’t come through that door because you’ve closed it and decided to focus on God and His infinite power.
