It Is Not About Us

1 John 4:1

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

John the apostle was believed to have written this book to warn the Christians of the time of false prophets who were teaching false information about Christ to glorify themselves, instead of glorifying God. Unfortunately we have the same thing going on today, people trying to throw the focus on themselves instead of the Savior of this world. The reason why false teachers get away with twisting the Word of God is because we don't know the Word of God.  We don't study to show ourselves proven unto God. We don't find time to go sit in a Bible study. As a people we are always too busy being busy doing stuff. Now this stuff we are doing might be legit stuff, but if you are too busy to pick up the word of God for yourself,  then you need to stop with the busyness and find time to study the Word of God for yourself.  We are just like Martha in the Bible, when Christ came to the house for a visit, she became so angry with her sister Mary because she was sitting down listening to Jesus instead of helping.  When she complained,  Jesus said, "Martha your sister has chosen the right thing and it will not be taken away from her." So I say stop being Martha and start being Mary.  You must study the Word for yourself, so you can grow and know when people are feeding you junk and twisting the Word of God to suit their own purpose.  Each day I give my insight on different scriptures from the Word of God,  but how many of you go and look to see if I'm speaking truth from the Word!? You should, not that I'm speaking falsely but because you want to dig deeper into God's Word and learn more about that passage of scripture.  People of God, let's find time to study God's Word, so we are not deceived by false teachers and preachers in our midst.
