What It Means To Fear God
/When the word of God says fear God, it doesn’t mean in a scary way. It is saying we should reverence who He is. We should honor and respect who He is. We should worship and adore who He is. We should love and cherish who He is. As His children, we should want to submit our will for His Will. We should want to obey and keep His commandments. If you have a problem obeying His Will for your life, then I wonder where does your loyalty lie? If you have a problem following His commandments for your life, then you need to re-evaluate your life and decide whose side are you really on!
Now don’t misinterpret what I’m saying, I know we are sinners saved by His grace, so yes we are going to mess up. But when we mess up, we don’t stay in that sinful state and just keep going in the wrong path as if there is no God. We don’t just deliberately disobey Him and feel comfortable doing it. We don’t just walk in our own will and feel good about what we are doing. I say this because when you are a true child of God, your sin does not feel comfortable to you. You can’t do what is contrary to the Master’s Will, even though you might want to, and feel okay because the Holy Spirit that was given to us when Jesus ascended back to His Father will not let you rest. When a true child of God sins against the Father, the Holy Spirit will not let us rest until we get back in line with the Will of God. I don’t know about you, but I’m glad we have the Holy Spirit that dwells in us, so we can strive to obey our Father’s commandments for our lives, and He can prompt us when we are making a wrong turn as we walk this Christian journey.
I do fear my God and want to do nothing but please Him every day of my life. I want to hear Him say one day, well done thy good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little, so come on up a little higher and I will make you a ruler over many. Come and share your Master’s happiness! This is what I want to hear, how about you? What do you want to hear from the Master?
