Everything Has A Purpose
/Everything we go through has its’ purpose. We may not understand why, but do know there is a reason for all things. When you read Ecclesiastes 3:1-14, it states that there is a season for all things and in verse 14 it says, “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.” Not fear him in a scary way as we discussed in yesterday’s devotional, but for men to humble themselves before Him and know that He is God and that all power is in His hands. He has power to bring about a cure for this virus. He has power to shield us from the virus. He has power to heal us of the virus. He has power to do anything except fail.
Now since we know we serve a God who has all power over every season in our lives then we must be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in His word. We must go through this shadow of death and not fear because He is with us. We must hold on to His promises, promises like, “the Lord will fight for us, we just need to have faith and be still Exodus 14:14.” Promises like, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand Isaiah 41:10.” Promises like, “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD Isaiah 54:17.” This next scripture, I’ve been saying since this mess began. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land 2 Chronicles 7:14.” “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
These scriptures are such a blessing, and there are many more promises God has promised us in His Word. So now that you have some spare time, let me suggest that you go to His Word for comfort and peace of mind. As I close, do know that everything we go through has its’ place, so we must go through it without loosing our faith, and holding on to God’s promises for His children.
