Choose Your Words Wisely

Did you know that you can literally talk yourself into stress and worry by allowing words to come out of your mouth that speak nothing but doom and defeat? There is power in the words you speak, that’s why it is important to be connected to the Father through His word. When you are in tune to what the scripture says then the words that come from your mouth will be that of God’s promises and the joy that comes from His promises.  A true relationship with God even in the midst of a storm will still allow the thoughts and words you speak come from a place of strength in God’s power. When you know and trust in God’s word, you will speak with joy and confidence that you know He is with you in the midst of your critical time and because He is with you, you are confident in this one thing, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. So because you trust everything God has spoken to you in His word, you know that if Jesus is not scheduled to return, you are covered by His Son’s precious blood. You know your situation is fully under His control and as long as He is the head of your life everything is under control, even if you don’t know what He is doing or why He has allowed it to happen in your life, you know you are covered. 

Now because you know your life is in His hands, then the words you speak should reflect what you know in your heart. 

Proverbs 18:21

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

That’s why you can’t say I trust you Lord in your thoughts, but what comes out of your mouth is I don’t know how we are going to make it. I just lost my job and what are we going to do. This is the worst thing that has ever happened in my life. I don’t want to listen to another Word from God because where is He? He has left me. He has allowed this to happen to me. 

These words you speak say you don’t really believe in the words and promises that God has spoken to you. If you are in this state right now in your life, stop and fall on your knees and first ask God to forgive you for doubting who He is and then to help your unbelief. Ask Him to help you see your way through this storm. Tell Him that you surrender your thoughts and power to Him. Tell Him that you remember His word that says, “When I am weak, then I am strong”, because His grace is sufficient for you. People of God, in the times we are in, you must speak life over your family. You must remember all of the promises that God has given us. Even if you are concerned about your children, you must pray for God’s Divine intervention into their life’s. There is power in the words you speak , so start speaking healing, protection, provision, strength, God’s power all over your family. Also tell God and mean it that whatever He allows, you are okay with it because you know that He has you and your family in His hands and you know and trust His Word that says, “I will put no more on you than you can bear.” 1 Corinthians 10:13.  Speak life and joy over yourself and your family and watch how God will protect and cover your family even in the midst of your present storm.
