Only God Deserves the Glory

You should never do anything for the Lord in vain glory. He is the one that deserves the glory, honor and praise, not you! The word today says, “Whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” So take heed today to the word of God. Stop worrying about if people thank you or give you a pat on the back for what you did for the Kingdom.  If you are working in the church for your own gratification, then I say stop because God doesn’t need you to do anything for Him. He allows you to do things for His Kingdom because He loves you. He loves to bless his children. He loves to see you grow in His strength and wisdom. So don’t think for one moment that He needs you, quite the contrary. In fact, you are the one that needs Him.

Colossians 3:17

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

If God has placed something in your heart to do that will bring Him glory, then do it because you love Him, not because you want recognition from man. Man can’t do anything for you unless God gives him the means and authority to do it. If God didn’t authorize your blessing then man will give you nothing but temporary praise that will fade away. God’s blessings in your life are everlasting, it doesn’t fade away. Now when the Lord has placed something in your heart to do or say, you should be jumping for joy that He chose you to be a representative for Him. You should be thanking Him in the midst of what He told you to do or say. Thanking Him for choosing you to do something for His Glory.  Don’t allow satan to trip you up and make you sin against God by allowing pride to slip into yourself consciousness.

Just remember when you are doing something for the Kingdom of God, no matter how big or small, keep God in your focus by praying to Him all the way through to whatever He has told you to do. With the Lord as your focus, He can use you and what you receive back from Him will outshine and outlast what man can do.
