A Mother of Honor
/You should always give honor to whom honor is due. Yesterday was Mother’s Day in America and God wrote a passage of scripture that talks about what it truly means to be a mother in the Lord.
A mother in the Lord is one who should do all she can to lift her family up with her words and deeds. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord is one who you find praying for her family without ceasing because she knows the enemy wants to destroy the family. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord puts her family’s needs before her own. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord is confident in knowing God’s Will for her life. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord is always asking the Lord what do you want me to do next? She is the woman who says here I am Lord, send me. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord is strong in character. She knows how to take care of God’s business, so He can take care of her business. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord has compassion for the poor and those in need. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord brings honor to her husband and household. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord poses strength, wisdom, dignity and faith. She knows faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord watches over the affairs of her household. She looks at things through the spiritual eyes. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord serves the one and only God of Heaven. This is a woman who deserves honor. A mother in the Lord is admired by her children and husband but the most important thing about a mother in the Lord is that she fears the Lord. She knows she was created to glorify the Master. She loves to worship and praise Him because He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Now I know you might say you do not poses all these traits. I know I don’t poses all these traits, but I do know everyday I’m striving to be the woman God designed me to be. How about you, are you striving to be the woman God created you to be? It’s okay if you are not all these things, just keep trusting and asking God to keep working on you because you want to be ALL He wants you to be.
