W.W.J.D?

There’s a song that says, “Lord I want to be a Christian in my heart. Lord I want to be more loving in my heart.” This song is just saying that I desire to be like Christ in my daily walk. There is an acronym that says WWJD, which means “What Would Jesus Do?” It was designed for people to began thinking about following the lifestyle of Christ in their day to day living. When you said yes to Christ, you were making a conscious decision to follow Christ and all He stands for. You said in your heart my cross I’ll carry till I see Jesus. You said in your heart the world behind me, the cross before me. You have decided to be more like Christ in your walk, in your decision making, the way you treat people, and the way you talk. To be more like Christ is not easy because we have a sin nature, so we have to be intentional about everything we do and say. It is easier for us to do the opposite of what Christ expects of us, but if we truly have made up in our mind to follow Christ, then He will give us help through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one that helps to keep us on track, if we listen. He was left here on earth to guide us in the right direction. He was left here to help us live a life that would be pleasing to God. So don’t dismiss His presence in you. He can help you have a genuine love for people you know and don’t know. He can even show you how to love your enemy. If you have truly decided to follow Christ and imitate His ways in all you do, then you must rely on the Holy Spirit to help you follow the examples of Christ. When you open your heart to Christ, He can help you be the salt and light in your family and community. He can help you live a life that is pleasing to God. He can help you read and understand a simple scripture like the one today that tells us to imitate God in everything we do because we are His dear children. It tells us to live a life filled with love not hate which is following the example of Christ while He was here on earth. There is another scripture that says we should be doers of the Word of God and not just hearers only. James 1:22. This scripture is saying that if we are going to be about Christ and all He stands for then we can’t just read about the way He wants us to live, but we must take action and live the life He wants us to live daily. One thing for sure God is not looking for coward soldiers, He is looking for bold soldiers that say for Christ I live and for Christ I die. You can only say those words because you know in your heart that there is an eternity award waiting for those who live their life according to His Will. Paul said in Philippians 1:22 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” He knew that by him following Christ in his daily walk, he would gain eternal life with Christ in death. Which is what we all should get excited about as believers of Christ, that when this life is all over, we will live and reign with Jesus for eternity. That means forever and ever! I’m getting excited just thinking about it. Let’s strive to be more like Christ with each passing day. You can, but you must be intentional and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you through the steps of imitating a life like Christ.
Be blessed!
