Your Life Is In His Hands

James 4:3

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”

God will not give you what you do not deserve. He will not give you what is not in His will for your life. Our lives, those who have been set a part, is in the Lord’s hands and we must trust that He knows what is best for us. I have seen people get upset with God because He has decided that what they have asked for is not prosperous for them. I say that is foolishness to get upset with God, because you don’t know what pitfall He is keeping you from. He is our protector and we should depend on Him to keep us from dangers seen and unseen. He knows our past, present and future. So why would you get upset with Him? You say you trust Him with your whole heart and soul, but the minute He denies you of something, you get bent out of shape. God does know your heart and He does know what is best for you and He knows what is going to keep you from doing something that will cause you to come right back to Him with a repentant heart. When you say your life is in His hands, then you should stop trying to force things to happen in your life, just relax and allow God to lead you in the path of righteousness. I remember a time when I was praying for this new promotion, I really wanted this job. The job payed more and it would have put me with a different class of people. Now I thought this was the job for me and I didn’t understand why the Lord was not hearing me. Why didn’t He want me to have this job? What was the real deal, I would think? I admit, I was a little upset with God for not giving me that promotion, but now I realize that it was not the job for me because He had something better for me. He knew my reasons for wanting this job was going to lead me into making wrong decisions in my life. He knew this very job was going to be changed in the district and people would loose their positions. If I had pursued this job in spite of what God wanted for me, I would have been without a job in 1 years time. If I had pursued this job, my whole attitude would have changed for the worse because I would have allowed this job to define who I was. This type of thinking would have messed me up spiritually. I don’t need a job to define who I am because I know who I am in Christ Jesus. My desire for this job would have led me in the wrong path and I would have missed out on the promotion God really had for me 6 years later. Learn to wait on the Lord because He always knows best. He knows what you can handle and what you can’t handle. He knows the plans He has for you, so let Him be God without you trying to make things happen in your life. If you let Him truly guide you, then you will miss some of those fiery darts from the enemy. God knows your heart and He knows what is best for you.  He knows how to keep you from making foolish mistakes, if you let Him. So trust Him and don’t allow yourself to get caught up in a satanic web of confusion.

Be blessed!
