Does Christ Really Know You?
/What is a true friend? The dictionary says a friend is a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection with. Let’s look at the key words for a friend, it says you know the person and you have a bond with that person. Now let’s look at synonyms for the word friend… companion, best friend, close friend, intimate, confidante, familiar, soul mate, shadow. There are more words but let’s stop there. So if you are truly a born again Christian, you said yes to God’s will for your life. You decided to turn your back on worldly gain for Kingdom gain. You decided that you would love what Christ lovesand hate what Christ hates. You decided that you wanted to be on the Lord’s side. So if this was your decision, do your actions show it? Does Christ know that you are on His side? Have you started building your relationship with the Savior? Does He really know you or are you one that He has to look for? Do you have a bond with Christ so much, that you feel His presence daily? Have you developed an intimate relationship with Christ? Can He trust you with His Word? Can the Savior shadow you each day and not feel tormented? Can He have confidence in you that what He tells you to do, you will do? Does Christ truly know you, I know He knows us all, but if you are truly on His side then He knows you intimately. Can you say that you and Christ are soulmates? If Christ is truly your friend, the things I’ve just said should resonate with you. But know that you cannot call yourself a friend if you only pick up your word when you are at church. He cannot call you a friend if He only hears from you when you need something. He cannot really call you a friend when you can’t be found when He needs you to witness to someone because you always have one excuse or another. He cannot call you a friend if you only claim Him when you are around other saints but when you get around the world, you look, talk, and act just like the world.
If you exhibit any of the above negative behaviors then you need to check yourself. Our Savior is the best friend you could ever have. He will be closer to you than your mother, father, or a sibling. He will never leave nor forsake you. He will love you unconditionally, all He wants from you is your heart, mind and soul. If you want a friend like Jesus, just say “Here I am Lord, use me for your service.”
Be blessed!
