My Father’s Business

Colossians 3:23-24

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

People ask me why do I keep going and going and going like the Duracell bunny and my answer is simple, it is because I love the Lord. He has done So much for me and my family that I cannot tell it all. My favorite scripture says, “I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day because when night comes, no man can work.” I must do all I can do right now while I have breath in my body. I want to be pleasing to the Lord right now in my life because I’ve wasted too much time already. How many of you can say that you’ve wasted too much time? Wasted time doing things your way instead of God’s way. Wasted time seeking things that have no relevance in your life instead of seeking the face of God for clear direction. Wasted time pursuing your own purpose instead of seeking the purpose of God for your life. Many of us, if the truth be told, have wasted valuable time in our life. The word of God says, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all His righteousness and all other things will be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33) This scripture is so true because when I started taking care of God’s business, He started taking care of my business. Doors began to open for me and my family, pouring out blessings after blessings. There is nothing sweeter than when the Lord blesses you.  So when I look at the scripture today, I say, “Amen!” I can’t half step with God anymore, I must do it whole heartedly. Not looking for vain glory but giving ALL GLORY to God. He created us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. When we do what we were created to do, the Lord will give you His inheritance. Not one time but over and over again. I know many of you can attest to the goodness of God. So this week let’s witness to others about the goodness of the Lord we serve. Let’s get up and be about our Father’s business. Let’s tell others to stop pursuing their own purpose and seek the purpose of God for their life. Let’s tell others that when they seek the Kingdom of God first, they will receive His inheritance. Let them know that when they allow the Master to drive their life, He will give them the desires of their heart. Don’t waste anymore time People of God, let’s be about our Father’s business and tell others of the Good News! Tell them about what follows when they accept the Good News in their heart. Tell them that this road is not easy but it so fulfilling and rewarding all at the same time. Now don’t just do what I’ve asked because I’ve said it, but do it because you know where your help comes from. Do it because you know who gives joy in sorrow. Do it because you know who provides hope and can make the impossible possible. Do it because you love the Lord and you know He is good and His mercy endures forever.
