Who Is In Your Circle?

Proverbs 27:17

“People learn from one another, just as iron sharpens iron.”

The word of God says that iron sharpens iron. Which means whatever you are all about, whether good or bad, can rub off on whoever you are close too or whoever is in your inner circle. So the question today is who do you hang out with? Who are you close to, is that person a good influence in your life? Are you a good influence in their life? Who do you hang out with? It is a good thing for brethren to dwell together in unity and love says the Lord Almighty Psalms 133:1. It is good when like spirits in the Lord come together to talk about the word of God or how the Lord helped them through a situation. It is good to associate yourself with other saints who are going in the same direction spiritually. It is good when you can be a witness to someone, or they can be a witness to you. We often get ourselves in trouble when we associate with unlike spirits, people who are going in the opposite direction from the way you are going spiritually. I know you might say well these people are good people BUT they are struggling with their faith. That small word “BUT” is where the trouble arise because yes they may be okay people but in order to help this person you must be strong enough in your faith to move them from a place of staleness spiritually to a place of growth in their walk with Christ. If you are struggling in your faith, you will not do that person any good, in fact that person will more than likely bring you down to their level. You should know that the enemy is a strong force and his job is to rip you from your faith in Christ to being on the fence or just completely fallen off the fence of spiritual awakening. So you must be careful when dealing with people whose faith is really not in God, because the enemy wants you at all cost and his job is to not only kill your faith but kill you emotionally, socially and spiritually. The enemy does this very well with the people he puts in your life. The Bible also talks about being unequally yoked up with people not on the faith path with you. The word of God is true about what takes place when you are not partnered with people who are moving in the direction of Christ. Let’s read what the Lord has said in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 “Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness? THINK ABOUT IT...WHEN YOU ADD DARKNESS TO LIGHT, WHICH ONE PREVAILS? DARKNESS OF COURSE! And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever? THINK ABOUT IT... WHEN YOU TALK WITH A PERSON WHO HAS NO FAITH, THEY THINK WHAT THEY HAVE IS SOLELY ON THEIR STRENGTH AND WISDOM. THEY THINK IF THEY CANNOT DO IT THEN IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. PEOPLE OF FAITH SAY ALL MY HELP COMES FROM THE LORD. PEOPLE OF FAITH SAY IF IT IS IN GOD’S WILL, IT WILL BE, IF NOT, IT WAS NOT IN GOD’S WILL. and what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? THINK ABOUT IT..... OUR GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD AND HAS SAID THAT WE WILL NOT PUT ANY OTHER god BEFORE HIM. For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, “ I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore “ come out from their midst, .....HE SAID GET AWAY FROM THEM. and be separate,” says the Lord, “ and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord.”

‭‭So if we are going to sharpen iron with another, it is and should be with those who believe in the word of God and live by His Word at all cost. So my question again is who are you hanging out with? Because this passage of scripture works to your advantage when it is with other believers!

Be Blessed!
