A Present Help
/Why are you worried? Why are you down cast? Why are you sad? Why are you troubled? The question is why are you so bothered by the pain and disappointment this world offers when you serve a God who has said time and time again that He is our Refuge and Strength in a very present time of trouble. We worry about things we have no control over instead of taking them to the Lord in prayer. The word of God says, “To cast all our cares on God because He cares for us” 1 Peter 5:7. The word today tells us why we should cast all our worries, hurt, pain, frustration, disappointment, and troubles on God.
The first reason is because He is our refuge, which means we can put our trust, hope and confidence in Him. We should have confidence in God that no matter what is perplexing our lives, He will come through for us in His time. We should trust Him enough to know that since He is strong and mighty, He is more than able to conquer any situation we are confronted with.
Psalm 46: 1-2
“1God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,”
The second reason we should not hold on to anxiety is because God is our strength. God has strength like no other. His strength is deeper than the ocean and bigger than any mountain. His strength is all powerful, and all we need to do is rely on His strength and stop doing things in our own strength, which fails every single time.
When we let go and let God be God, we have no need to be cast down, disappointed, worried, afraid because God’s unfailing love for us supersedes anything the enemy throws our way. There is absolutely nothing too hard for God to do. He is able to make your impossible, possible. He is abundantly able to take care of any situation you are facing today. So take whatever is giving you great pain and stress in your life to God in prayer and supplication, and know that by faith it is already done. God is a very PRESENT help in your right now trouble.
