Pray for Your Enemies

Matthew 5:44

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

Look what the Lord says about those who have intentions to harm you. He says love and pray for them.  Why you ask?  If we want to be more like Jesus, then we must take on HIS characteristics.  When He came to earth, He came with love in His heart for people He knew would reject Him and want Him dead. When you can love those that despitefully use you, is a true sign of the way Christ loved us. He gave up His life for us and He is not asking any of us to die for our enemies, only to love AND pray for them. Love confuses the enemy, when you show love toward a person that you know is dirty and low down,  it confuses them and they will move on because they don't know how to respond. When Satan is upon someone, he only knows how to fight fire with fire.  So when you go in with that same evil attitude, notice how the problem escalates instead of diffusing. Basically you are giving the enemy more ammunition to destroy your character.  Why give the enemy (satan) that much gratification? Don't do it, just show love and watch them move on to the next person. The enemy can't identify with nothing except what they dish out and that is evil intentions.  The Word of God says to pray for our enemies and prayer changes things. When satan is using others to get to you, means he is really after you because he knows God has a plan for your life and He is trying to discredit your character and make you loose your testimony. So you need to pray that God will surround you with his protection from what satan is trying to do and that satan would release your enemy . Pray that the strong hold in your enemy's life would be broken. You know satan is here to seek  and destroy lives but Christ came to seek and save the lost. So even though this scripture is a hard one to do, do not ever think it is impossible because we serve an ALL POWERFUL GOD and whatever satan is trying to do to YOU will not come to past as long as you are on God's side and you trust Him and His Word.
