The Power of Forgiveness

Colossians 3:13

“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”

When you think about this scripture and ALL the wrong we do, day in and day out, WHY do we find it hard to forgive those that do us wrong? God has forgiven us more times than we can count because we go to Him screaming LORD PLEEEESE forgive me!! And because He is loving and kind , He forgives us of our transgressions and then turns around and blesses us.  This is the GREAT GOD we serve.  Now if we are to be like Him in our daily walk, then we too are to show love and kindness toward that person who has done us wrong, even if they ask for forgiveness or not. WHY? Because you know who you serve and His love and kindness toward you is MORE than the hurt a mere human did to you. We serve a God that said, Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19 So what we should do is forgive and let it go. God has it under control if we give it to Him and take our hands off. Remember that ALL things, even the hurt,  works together for our good, for those that love God and are called according to HIS purpose. It is important that you keep these scriptures and other scriptures that talk about God's protection and love for us close to you daily. When you stay in His Word, all the petty things people do seem minor compared to the God we serve.
