What Does It Mean to Fear God?

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

This scripture says fear not the Lord because He is with you. Let's talk about FEAR. We should not fear the Lord as in scared fear because He is our strength, our refuge, our protector, our provider, our wisdom. If you have Him in your life, you can hold on to His Word that says He will never leave you nor forsake you. But you do need to FEAR Him in reverence because He is God all by Himself, He is great and mighty. He is a jealous God and has clearly said that we are to put NO other God before Him. So yes fear Him in respect because of who He is, but there is no need to fear Him in the sense of being scared of Him. If you have the Almighty God on your side, you don't need anything or anyone else because He will have you covered from beginning to the end. So just learn to trust Him in every decision you make and lean NOT to your own understanding, acknowledge Him in ALL your ways and He will direct your path.
