True Love

1 Corinthians 13:13
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
If you read the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 13, you will see that as a Christian our greatest gift to share is love. You cannot proclaim you love the Lord and you walk around gossiping about others. Gossiping is NOT showing love. You can't say I'm a Christian and I love the Lord, but you are ready to fight your brother or sister. You CANNOT proclaim love on one side as a Christian, but find yourself mixed up in confusion and destroying the lives of people.
John in 1 John said how can you say you love God, whom you have never seen but hate your brother and sister who you see everyday. If you are truly going to walk this Christian walk, you must show love toward everybody. God's Word clearly says you can have faith and hope, but lack in love and you are not doing as I have commanded you to do which is to love one another. If we can't show love toward one another then we need to sit down and take an inventory of our life as a Christian.
True love is what made GOD send His only Son to this earth. He loved us so much that He didn't want us to live a life on earth in hell and then die and continue a life in hell that would be a million times worse than on earth. Also, Jesus consented to leave His Father in Glory and come to this world to die on a nasty cross because He loved us so much. This is the type of love God wants us to show. He wants us to love each other sacrificially.
True love suffers long, true love is patient, kind and does not envy. True love is not prideful and does not behave rudely. True love does not put oneself before others and thinks evil. True love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth. Love never fails.
